According to the Brits, Iraq is just crawling with al Qaeda.
BAGHDAD, Aug. 31 (UPI) — A secret, elite force of British army commandos has killed or captured 3,500 suspected Iraqi terrorists in Baghdad in the last two years, sources say.
The Special Air Service group is known as Task Force Black and works with its U.S. counterpart Delta Force, The Sunday Telegraph reported. It claims to have “taken off the street” thousands of men deemed connected with al-Qaida in Iraq and other terrorist groups.
Now if we acknowledge that the Brits are a comparatively small proportion of the CoW, and that the number killed or captured can only ever be a small minority of the total number of bad guys, that makes the total number of ‘Iraqi terrorists’ 1,342,987 according to my sophisticated model. Eh, prove that I’m wrong.
Oh hang on a minute, these are only suspected Iraqi terrorists … so chances are most of them were just ordinary folk going about their business. And they were ‘deemed [what a wonderful word] connected with al-Qaida in Iraq and other terrorist groups‘. In other words someone thought they might have something to do with an organisation like the Sadrists, presumably.
In other words, the Brits detained 3,500 people who they didn’t like the look of … which hardly justifies the headline in UPI.com:
SAS unit claims 3,500 al-Qaida ‘removed’
But who cares? As United Press International site says of itself:

I dont want to be a bore, but your analysis completely compliments DavidIcke.com in conclusion and the essential Alex Jones sites.I am sick to bloody death of the British attitudes I see on DavidIcke.com.I now think Britain is in serious trouble, they are more precisely senile than the Americans. No wonder Russia is behaving the way it is…Browne as complete irrelevant idiot and his conservative whack masters.End of the British culture rather than the Iraqi one, because the poms just cannot think.

I’m just curious about where these thousands of terrorists and al-Qaida connected-types were hiding before 2003.

Don’t you see, mars, they were just everywhere. I suspect they have got a Mick Keelty look-alike into their ranks, and he’s just finding them under rocks, around corners, all the usual places.

If you wanted to get rid of the guy who is screwing your wife…or has a wife you want freed up, so to speak…or has a business you’d like to bankrupt because he’s competition…or is the fella who beat you up when you were a kid…or is the neighbour you’ve been having a dispute with for years…or is the teacher who punished you for being an arsehole all those years ago…or is the fella you owe alot of money to…
what better way of getting rid of them for awhile…maybe even permanently…than dobbing them in as an al-Qaeda type…or enemy of the state…??? Particularly when you know how twitchy the American & remaining COW troops are…& the problems w/ language. I bet heaps of Afghanis & Iraqis ended up in some US tax-payer funded galag wondering what they’d done & who they’d offended.
And if Brit & American soldiers & other authorities were discovered doing criminal things, it would be easy enuff to frame the witnesses & potential dobbers & put them in cages where they could be pressured to keep quiet…perhaps even permanently silenced.
Just casualties in the fog of war.
