This woman is certifiable

The shock of losing a prize she thought was inevitably hers has caused Hillary Clinton to become completely unhinged.

May 23, 2008 –

Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama.

“My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it,” she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

If she were to win the nomination against McCain, Americans would face the novel task of choosing between two presidential candidates who were both arguably insane.

What a screwed up country.

She is testing the media,by showing them how gutless they are in not determining a prior role in accusation, about matters previous in terms of Kennedy’s!Only a very strange site like HenryMakow.com will show a long term plan may be nearing completion! And then one can wonder how much of Obama is real or duped. If,he can face up to certain matters himself, and know the evil stalking him!?

  2. donny Says:

He’s coming across as being far to left of center but his not leftist as it should be/ he act as if he is lefty. He’s attaching GW for stating why it’s not a good idea to sit down and chat with terrorists “Speak softly and carry a big stick?” As long as we don’t pretend to believe what the terrorists say I don’t think it’s a big deal either way.It sounds really corny to me.
The Obama’s bubble burst somehow burst => Cornering the market (Purchasing a security or commodity in such volume as to achieve control over its price) is an illegal practice.

  3. mars Says:

IMO, white America is voting for Hillary because she’s frightening them.

  4. nasking Says:

Maybe she’s making it an issue so the people at Obama’s speeches keep a bloody good look out?

Plenty of bitter, lonely, guilt-ridden, grandiose, brain-washed, mind-cooked, trained potential killers/idol slayers around I reckon…only takes one.

Some motivated to AWAKEN by the use of signs, images & WORDS that are grown INSIDE to eventually act as TRIGGERS when they are kids…& during formal education…& as adults…particularly via a combination of TV shows, films, military training, books, posters, blog sites, computer games, albums & religious/mythos adventures…but done on a MASS level, so that the real conspirators are not connected to the vulnerable buggers that they hope will blow up.

I want to believe Hillary is not trying to increase that FEVER…set off those TRIGGERS…or gain from the comments…rather, I hope she is stating a TRUISM in order to make people ALERT.

BUT…I wouldn’t put anything past the top Americans these days.

So many that I BELIEVED in as a young man…stupid me…brainwashed me…have turned out to be SELF-SERVING ARS*E-WIPES who spend much of their time manufacturing LIES & speaking HOLLOW WORDS…& persuading us…& the children to PAY to keep the SHADOW-BOXING going.

All these fuc*in’ filmakers & such who purport to be representing & showing a society better than the TOTALITARIAN pieces of crap overseas (That’s right, I’m no Commie) are merely SELLING BS & perpetuating a system that does not care about where the MERCHANDISE is SOLD & where it comes from & who or what suffers…as long as they & their mates make a fast buck. And they convince themselves they are sensibly PRAGMATIC & PHILANTHROPIC because they GIVE to Parties that often do the littlest possible to CHANGE the world for the better.

Check out the guy who is meant to scrutinise the potential Democratic Party candidates for the position of VP. And NO…it’s not Robert Reich:

I wonder if the whole American political system is CERTIFIABLE Ken?

And yippeee…James A. Johnson is an “American Friend of Bilderberg”…won’t that get Obama heaps of independent & Libertarian votes? Nice strategic move…there’s actually a lot of decent Left Libertarians out there who HATE the War & are just starting to think about voting Obama. But that just went phhhttt…

gotta keep some chosen to be paranoid people happy:

Johnson has long been one of Washington’s most prominent leaders, holding leadership positions in business, the arts, and politics. From 1991 to 1998, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the quasi-public organization that guarantees mortgages for millions of American homeowners. Previously, he was vice chairman of Fannie Mae (1990-1991) and a managing director with Lehman Brothers (1985-1990).

As of 2006, he is a vice chairman of the private banking firm Perseus LLC, a position he has held since 2001. He is also a board member at Goldman Sachs, Gannett Company, Inc., a media holding group, KB Home, a home construction firm, Target Corporation, Temple-Inland, and UnitedHealth Group.

Johnson has also served as chairman of both the Kennedy Center for the Arts (1996-2004) and the Brookings Institution (1994-2003). He is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Friends of Bilderberg, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission.

Johnson began his career as a faculty member at Princeton University, later moving on to the United States Senate as a staff member and to the Dayton-Hudson Corporation (now Target Corp.) as director of public affairs. He was executive assistant to Vice President Walter Mondale during the entire Carter Administration (1977-1981). Later, he founded and headed Public Strategies, a private consulting firm, from 1981 to 1985 before leaving for Lehman Brothers.

The Bilderberg Group, Bilderberg conference, or Bilderberg Club is an unofficial annual invitation-only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are persons of influence in the fields of business, media and politics.

The elite group meets annually at luxury hotels or resorts throughout the world — normally in Europe — and once every four years in the United States or Canada. It has an office in Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands. The 2007 conference took place from May 31 to June 3 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey

I wonder if the whole American political system is CERTIFIABLE Ken?

    EXACTLY!

If these are the best candidates that “the greatest democracy on earth” has to offer, then what’s the f@&king point? The ship has taken on too much water already. It has developed a dangerous list to starboard and shows no signs of righting itself in time of avoid disaster.

  7. Kieran Says:

Funnily enough, not that I make too much of these ‘quotes of the day’, but if it were to pass that Obama was the Bobby Kennedy of 2008 (which, wild talk aside, I highly doubt), then I guess that would make Hillary Clinton the Hubert Humphrey of our strained little metaphor.

Who of course went on to lose to Richard Goddamn Nixon.

And that would, in our increasingly tortured allusion, make John McCain like Richard Nixon, or something.

And that would make Iraq like Vietnam, no wait, Iran, like Vietnam… and, my head just exploded.

I think Hillary should run on a secret plan to get us out of Iran.

  8. sjk Says:

ken, you know, I have a lot of respect for you, but you’ve let yourself down with this post.

Here is a link to Clinton’s full remarks:

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/196732.php

She is clearly searching for precedents from her party’s history to explain why it is not unusual for her to stay in the race, even at this late stage.

True, with Kennedy, Clinton picked a bad example in the current context. But to imply that she is saying she is staying in the race because she thinks Obama may get asassinated is just silly.

Clinton may be insane, but this episode is not evidence for said hypothesis.

  10. Jack Dorf Says:

I have always held the belief that the US political system actually encourages a certain level of insanity in it’s presidential candidates.

Reagan, Bush Jnr, Clinton W & Nixon are all good examples of what a bit of madness in the oval office is capable of producing.

Hillary’s comment on assassinations was bad enough. Then mentioning the name Kennedy in the same breath, at a time when Ted seems poised at the edge of his grave. Struck me as incredibly insensitive.

To me this indicates she is either totally burned out or so desperate to win, that she’ll say and do anything to get back into the White House.

  11. Ken L Says:

Well it’s a matter of opinion sjk. If her only intention was as you suggest, why did she not say “Hubert Humphrey didn’t wrap up the nomination until August”? Moreover it’s not just ‘a bad example’, it’s a ludicrous example; Humphrey won at the convention itself in a system totally different to the one Clinton is engaged in. He did not participate in any primaries at all. Given previous unhinged behaviour such as the sniper fire in Bosnia lunacy, I stand by the post.

Useful insights into Clinton here, with discussion about the Kennedy reference here and here.

  12. nasking Says:

Good points everyone. Clinton obviously believes she is the RIGHT candidate for the time & prevailing mood underlying the mass American psyche post 9/11. Hopefully she is wrong. And Obama doesn’t allow himself & his campaign to be hijacked by WAR PROFITEERS…& Corporate lackeys who work more for their bosses than the people.

I think it’s imperative that voters also learn more about the assassination of Bobby Kennedy, his positions on the Vietnam War, approach to dealing w/ corruption at high-levels including in Union/Teamster ranks, civil rights, Communism & so on…& the moral development & evolution of his views over the years, particularly after the death of his bro & attacks on civil rightists. But also the blame shifting & “framing” strategies used against him by J. Edgar Hoover etc.

His role in the Cuban Missile Crisis is also important…i need to read more by Schlesinger on this era…& the Roosevelt period for that matter.

Could be the key to understanding the actions of certain DEM HAWKs now….& their previous votes to give Bush the authority to take military action re: Iraq. And their stance on Iran.

The latest research/investigations/books are worth a look. Seems to be a CIA connection.

Perhaps Hillary has also used a carefully planned strategy that appears OVERT & unwise in order to get the media & the public to FOCUS on the Kennedy era & the determinants behind the assassination etc?

    it’s a start.

  13. Geoduck Says:

To paraphrase Douglas Adams: Anyone capable of getting him or herself elected President of the United States of America should under no circumstances be allowed to have the job.

  14. mars Says:

    Well stated, Geoduck.

Most members of the human race want to live inoffencive lives in the sunshine. Some do better at it than others.

However, the foeitd ooze of American politics promotes the evolution (touchy word, that) of a different type of animal. One better suited to it’s unpleasant environment.

  15. amphibious Says:

Geoduck - I think it was H L Mencken (some Surfer will correct me if not) who said (I also paraphrase)”the requirements of the amerikan election system mean that sooner, rather than later, the people will have a Presdient as ignorant, bigotted and xenophobic as themselves”
Mission accomplished thus far and I see no change, that I can believe in, on the horizon.

  16. mars Says:

It’s one of my favourite quotes, amphibious.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

Even though American politics [Australian too?] throws up the occasional admirable leader, it’s a been downward trend for a while now.

  17. amphibious Says:

MARS - thanks for the exact quote, was it Mencken?

  18. mars Says:

    Yes. Mencken.

According to wiki it’s from July 1920…

“The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.

The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

  19. nasking Says:

Let’s not be too negative…tho we might be distraught & sometimes filled with anger & frustration, it should be remembered that Americans, across numerous States & communities, regardless of race, gender, creed or colour, have shown much courage in standing against the darkness…resisting and overcoming the oppressive storms of “taxation without representation”, slavery, Salem-like witch trials, the destructiveness of Land Barons acting like feudal kings, attacks against Unionists, the totalitarian aspects of fascism…& likewise communism…the McCarthy/J. Edgar Hoover era, segregation, the Vietnam War, the Iran/Contra Affair…the insane buildup of nuclear arsenals in the 80s…and so on & so on…many people stood united & made the World proud of their achievements as they shone that LIGHT into the DARK….then, like now, some Americans refused to follow the weak, the deceitful, the hate-filled, the profiteers, the fear-mongers…instead they walked forward & set by example.

Some Presidents are sane…I feel Obama could be a fine President provided he does not catch the virus that makes some myopic, greedy & easily swayed by influence, money & blackmail:

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
    (John Quincy Adams)

“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.”
    (Franklin D. Roosevelt)

We need an American President & his administration & advisers that BELIEVES they can make a difference…can CHANGE things for the better…can bring LIGHT to where now there is only DARKNESS. I think that TIME of CHANGE is coming…if only they allow him to SHINE that LIGHT long enough. For everyone’s sake.

Without HOPE there is only a dead end. A road leading NOWHERE.

    Let’s tear down that wall…and CREATE a road…TOGETHER.

    And bridges…many bridges.
    N’

  20. mars Says:

I wasn’t always this negative, nasking.

No doubt the American people have made some great advances in the past. It’s just that I’ve come to see the last few years as a “tipping point” No going back. Americans have fallen to the darker angels of their nature. Abraham Lincoln - Republican

Disinterested, disengaged, distracted, misinformed and incurious. Sadly. The TREND is discouraging.

  21. nasking Says:

I know Mars, sometimes it can be frustrating. But I reckon there is an AWAKENING. A slow one…but it’s happening.

    I HOPE…:)
