The President of the Most Powerful Nation the World Has Ever Known has sent (by videotape) a farewell message to our late Prime Minister:
“You’re a digger who is simple, direct and tough. And you have never let this cobber down,” he said.
Is there anybody anywhere in either of our two nations who would not cringe with embarrassment at reading such juvenile crap? Apart from those at the Liberal Party function I mean, who I expect were giddy with excitement that Mr Bush would condescend to learn a bit of the local lingo.
And I suspect a lot of actual diggers are less than impressed.

I’m a new Australian, so I don’t quite get all the nuances of language… I thought that digger referred very specifically to someone who had served in the armed forces. Was Howard in the armed forces at some stage?

A digger is, specifically, an Australian or New Zealand soldier who served in WWI or WWII.
A cobber is a friend.

So now Howard’s a “digger” eh? Maybe he could join the fight over in Pakistan if he’s so keen to RAGE. Might get lucky & fall over OBL…I’m sure Dubya would enjoy watching the antics from his plane:

I think ,I prefer,the departed Tiny Tim.Just imagine getting a video recording,if P.M., of a Tiny Tim thank you for pulling out of Afghanistan and war! Come to think of it,even one from Liberace for the same thing! Isnt it all so 1960s ,where everyone pretended the last 40 odd years to the end of the century, would be all Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In. Trouble is, the replays of the helmeted one and the flower being spoken too. And that,is all in the wars ,rather than TV shows and appearances. Bush & Howard eh?
Me wise Dad once told me that “the most unlikely people will become mates in the grab for Godhood…being able to manipulate & influence others…& having the cash, assets & contacts to do it.” (or somethin’ similar)
Some of these types try damn hard to convince themselves…& others…they actually believe they’re doing UNIVERSAL GOOD.
Grandiosity & being overly-confident are recurrent characteristic of powerful SALESMEN living in the delusion of Godhood…the types who do the showboating & constant yapping via the media…& they sometimes act as “go-betweens”…working furiously to outpace childhood insecurities, sucking up to the real moneyed chess players….those corporate CEOs…influential investors…Dynasties filling their vaults….ones we generally see much less of.
These SALESMEN pretend to be working for all of the citizenry &/or working families…or middle class families (depending on where you live)…they usually promote cutting taxes (like Corporate, capital gains & the upper bands)…state they support small business (but in fact monopolisation & price collusion increases under them)…in tandem they claim to boost public services (whilst attempting to BUST worthwhile, bona-fide Unions, diminish the quality of the service so private services look more attractive, & often take less expensive shortcuts regardless of the risk to health & environment…or they bring in mates’ businesses by the back door & call it effective OUTSOURCING or CHOICE…or…well, you get the gist) …but it’s usually about re-distributing income…ensuring our toil & money works best for them & their mates.
The problem is, if it ever looks like the average Joe or Jill is going to benefit at their expense…these less than honest types come up w/ devious ways to rip it RIGHT out of their hands:
1) Create Wars via FEAR & DIVISION tactics. They make sure they’re invested in weapons manufacturing, energy companies, catering, private security, media etc..
2) Create panic over food supplies so well off nation’s consumers rush to the supermarkets…& consume…and by other goods whilst there…& watch the media intensely to see how things are going (advertisers also luv it…as do credit card companies…& media shareholders)
3) Create “faux” panic about the markets by putting out false rumours. Then they can swoop whilst knee-jerking amateurs & the gullible types freak out & sell. They can also make a mint on the currency as it rides the rollercoaster. They can convince you to sell hard-earned ASSETS & invest in wonky SUPER funds and supposedly “easy money making” investments. Then they can feed on your money…at your expense (note: some govts. go out of their way to ensure this doesn’t happen too often…I reckon Federal Labor is trying to HELP via legislation & information…but we’ll see).
4) Create housing boom & busts via media campaigns, tax incentives and cuts, loosening lending regulations, using Corporate-related financial advisors as salesmen & con artists…& then hitting the panic button by manipulating the market & using the media’s bullhorn “run for the exits!!!…sell, sell, sell!!!”…& then they swoop in and rent it back to the suckers if it’s a house/apt…or up the interest rates on those who got fooled into buying too high…or refinanced their homes (and their savings from hefty tax cuts do well too as the rates go up)…whilst chuckling at those who “WERE MUGS ENUFF” to become indebted to THEM forever & a bit.
5) Create a TECH boom & bust…similar to above…but they gain the new MESSAGE MACHINES & communication delivery systems instead of homes & land…and don’t these Corporations, Pyramid Makers, financial Zionists, Aristocrats, Titans luv to try & screw each other by manipulating the markets in order to accumulate capital for lobbying purposes & placing BLAME in order to get their GUY or GAL into the next political driving seat? (so they can pick a carefully selected group of allies & the “blackmailed” to “hand the golden doobie to the RIGHT or LEFT MATE’S side”)
6) Create “APOCALYPSE”, end of the World, UFOs coming, Stargate’s opening, Mayan calendar 2012 oh my God!!!…run for the underground bunkers” PANIC CAMPAIGNS…in order to manipulate people to VOTE for their Cock or Hen…or not vote…& in turn SELL heaps of books, subscriptions, survival gear, canned foods, weird gear from the BLOB dimension…& fooling some dopey speculators, already panicked about ECONOMIC TSUNAMIS & natural disasters, to drive up the price of oil, foodstuffs etc.
HEAPS of that going on right now. Too many people smoking potent wacky tobacci & drinking too much these days…makes ‘em paranoid & malleable.
Religion can contribute to this SPOOKING & manipulation…& help redirect money into naught people’s coffers…so can so called “do-gooder celebrities”.
Like my Dad says:
“If there’s a book, album (cd) or subscription involved it’s probably more to do w/ THEM wanting to CON YOU for their benefit…than helping you feel secure & stable…& lacking in debt”
Now, i’m fairly sure that the RATIONAL THINKING, anti-superstition stuff on our TVs, like Dawkins on Compass, is trying to help empower individuals (a free offering of info & opinion…if you don’t worry too much about the couple of bucks you spend for Aunty a year)…trying to OFFSET this latest round of MADNESS, IRRATIONAL THINKING & PANIC BUTTON PUSHING we see conveniently travelling alongside the American election. It helps to counter some of the BS & brain washing & manipulation…by those w/ HEAPS to gain by grabbing your attention & in turn, wallet/purse/credit card number.
Howard & Bush are SALESMEN…smiling, joking, pontificating, raging…to PERSUADE…to SELL a STORY & an IDEOLOGY & a WAR & an ECONOMIC POTION & a WAY of looking at the WORLD…they are OPPORTUNISTIC mates…just working the crowd.
Whilst their business mates & communication allies RUSH about…doing some of their own selling/persuading…& working overtime to come up w/ WINNING STRATEGIES…& even BARKING, GROWLING, PURRING & HOWLING…as they ENCIRCLE YOU….& YOURS
And they take bites out of victims overseas…& here…those that might be trying to help you. Those not always out to make a buck when they SHARE.
And thruout, these OPPORTUNISTS add to & subtract from THE PACK based on the leader’s perceptions of what makes them faster, stronger, more lethal. There are always HUNGRY.
