Another Friday, another cover

It takes a brave band to try to cover Led Zep, but O.A.R. & Robert Randolph almost pull it off, mainly by sounding as much like the original as they can … even down to not knowing when to stop (does anybody still listen to those appalling live Led Zep albums? They gave new meaning to ’self-indulgent’).

Anybody know what’s going on with GU VC Ian O’Connor? Looks like he’s been done for plagiarising from Wikipedia during this frackas over the Islamic centre.

Um!?Great,um,sound a like of the Led Zep.And,eh, Fiskers cultural warrior, seems like a lead balloon.Sort of not musical,or he missed his seat at a musical chairs event.I dont know what to make of it really!Werent the Middle Eastern types flocking to Queensland as tourist lately.I think, they might like Led Zeppelin songs, accompanying their soccer players!?

(The Australian)
Sounds like a hyped up load of sh*t to me. Perhaps one or two people got setup…or cocked up, at Griffith Uni…mebbe not…but then why don’t you ask News Corporation why it accepts money from Saudis?…& has one as a major shareholder.
If we carry the argument forward that accepting money from Saudis leads to the propagation of fundamentalism…then are we game to accuse Fox News, The Australian etc. of doing same?
Dedicated to the war-mongers, TRICKY DICKS, vampires & snakes that live amongst us…another dire live track…:)…:

They certainly didn’t know when to shut up (kind of like Status Quo … ) but it was alright aside from that. I must say I didn’t originally recognise it as a Led Zeppelin song (not being all that familiar with their work).
Apropos Led Zep, the very best cover of one of their songs I ever heard was The Mothers doing “Stairway to Heaven”. I especially like the segue into “Teddybears’ Picnic”.

Hey, don’t knock the Zeps, where would Rolf be without ‘em.
That wasn’t bad, little long perhaps by about..,still thing are picking up.
Maybe Nask can find Jimmy Dale Gilmore “Mack the Knife” best version ever or,
Hans Theessink “Cocaine Blues”,right up there.
Next time you walk past a nest containing a chicken having a smoke and an egg looking really pissed off, you will understand the answer to that age old question..
