Nearly two thirds of historians polled by the Pew Organisation rank George W Bush as the worst president ever:
A Pew Research Center poll of 109 leading historians found that 61 percent of them rank Bush as “worst ever” among U.S. presidents. Bush’s key competition comes from Buchanan, apparently, and a further 2 percent of the sample puts Bush right behind Buchanan as runner-up for “worst ever.” 96 percent of the respondents place the Bush presidency in the bottom tier of American presidencies. And was his presidency (it’s a bit wishful to speak of his presidency in the past tense–after all there are several more months left to go) a success or failure? On that score the numbers are still more resounding: 98 percent label it a “failure.”
I don’t think George should be too depressed. If McCain gets in, George will drop to second worst in no time.

You can fool some of the people… George W’s presidency will be measured by his response to 9/11 and the Iraq war.
He necked Saddam Hussein as a surrogate for Bin Laden and the others he was going to track down. The US military hegemony has been squandered and the republic is unravelling as the world power.
On top of these failures his economic policies have been laughable. The consumer society is consuming itself. Let’s hope he doesn’t decide to cement his place in history in the next 9 months with some bold move.

Don’t you just love the Empire. The really sad thing here is that the people actually voted for him twice, and the polls show that his deciple Mc Cain is neck and neck for a third term of war mongering. That would make the majority of the children of the empire fools and thick as a brick.
If there is no better alternative to Mc Cain and the Bush way, then the Empire has a big problem indeed.
Schrub and his current deciples are trotting around the world as the Global sherrif touting how great a Democracy is. No wonder why the Middle Eastern countries are opposing the facade, why would anyone want what the Empire currently has. That would be an Economy that is a basket case, a president who is determined to assist the rich thru the recession and stuff the poor, a country where most of the world hates but panders to due to economic trade and military power, an idiot for a president and a despot as the heir apparent, and a bully when it comes to foriegn policy.
I can only say, they deserve what they get.

Ken, obviously 96% of historians selected by Pew didn’t eat from the same Neo-Con BBQ that turned the majority of American journalists into gibbering idiots the last couple of Presidential election years.

What makes his effort as the worst even more of an achievement is that he had to beat fourty two others and has done without trying. Being a moron of course gives him an advantage.
