More on McCain

The quite probable next president of the United States continues to demonstrate why we should all be very very afraid. Did you ever lie awake worrying about the prospects of Dubya forgetting how to breathe one night and the world being subjected to the terrifying reality of President Cheney? McCain makes Cheney look like a moderate.

Here are some more of his latest observations which demonstrate either his utter cluelessness or his amoral preparedness to fabricate whatever nonsense he believes will help him get elected on a wave of Islamophobia and fear-mongering:

SPRINGFIELD, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain said on Friday he fears that al Qaeda or another extremist group might attempt spectacular attacks in Iraq to try to tilt the U.S. election against him.

McCain surely knows, unless he and his advisers live on another planet, that al Qaeda would be cheering his candidacy on for all they are worth. An irrationally belligerent McCain administration cranking up endless war in the Middle East would be just about the best recruiting tool militant Muslim terror groups could ever wish for. If they do ‘attempt a spectacular attack’ it will be to inspire fear and loathing to help get him elected, not the reverse.

In other comments, McCain continued his deluded boosting of Teh Surge’s success and the genius of the bloke who undermined any chance of reconciliation and democracy in Iraq by employing the Sunnis as mercenaries:

McCain, soon to depart on a Middle East and Europe trip with two Senate colleagues, said recent deadly attacks in Iraq show that al Qaeda in Iraq is not defeated.

He said is concerned “they might be able to carry out some spectacular suicide attacks but we do have them on the run.”

“We have achieved enormous success but they are still a very viable and tough enemy. There is no doubt in my mind that the surge is succeeding. Thank God for Gen. (David) Petraeus, one of the greatest generals in American history.”

If the recent increases in violence in Iraq signal a trend to long-term deterioration and anybody dares to point that inconvenient fact out, they will doubtless be savaged as surrender monkeys who are giving aid and comfort to the enemy and making political capital out of the deaths of innocent people. Indeed supporters of indefinite occupation of Iraq are already calling people who dare to criticise the Administration ‘traitors’.

McCain and company have got all their bases covered. If Iraqi violence increases it will demonstrate that we must stay the course. If it continues to subside it will prove how brilliant the whole Iraqi exercise was and now let’s have a go at Iran. No matter what happens in future, the answer will be war, war, war ad infinitum.

And our government shows no signs of distancing itself from this insanity. In fact it shows signs of committing to another five years in Afghanistan in a transparent Bush Administration move to close off the options available to a new Democrat government should one get elected in November.

Once upon a time the left in Australia was prepared to make a consistent case against the American alliance. These days, when such a case has a lot more validity, they are strangely silent. It’s very sad.

Of course, General David Petraeus says differently, in press comments yesterday:

…”No one” in the U.S. and Iraqi governments “feels that there has been sufficient progress by any means in the area of national reconciliation,” or in the provision of basic public services.

Gawd I wish these neocons could get their stories straight. Is Teh Serge working or isn’t it? 4000 dead Americans and about a million dead Iraqis would really love to know.

Right on Ken. I agree that John McCain would be a very dangerous US President. He seems to be all for war. His Iraq policy is to increase troop numbers, and threaten Syria and Iran, presumably leading to war with those countries. Who knows where that could go? World War? Nuclear war?

I know that sounds over the top, but if one reads or listens to John McCain a bit, you’ll realise that he is in fact very over the top when it comes to war.

The way things are going the USA will not be able to keep converting treasure into middle eastern shrapnel because they will have run out of treasure.

That being the case it really doesn’t matter much who wins.

I don’t believe that there even IS any organisation remaining today called al Qaeda. There once was but now it’s just American poppycock, fabricated frogshit that abounds in their crazy Hollywood-obsessed minds.

The yanks have already obliterated every damn hill and cave in Afghanistan, (with more bombs than dropped in WW2), tossed plane loads of Uncle Al’s into Gitmo, and slammed them around the globe. There can’t be a single terro left. al Qaeda is long since disbandoned.
Remember the endless bullshit terrorist warnings from the Dept. of Homeland Stupidity? “Code Red! Code Red! they screamed every six months, al Qaeda’s coming to git us!” But they never did, of course, because they don’t exist.

It’s all just Bush-shit to further crank up his insane global blitzkrieg which feeds the juggernaut of his frothing fruitcake VP who owns the said juggernaut. McCain will solve nothing, just throw nitro and glycerine onto the flames.

This is total insanity the likes of which this world has never seen. While most people believe that the next psychopath Prezzo of the USA will be either Osama Obama or Hilarious Clintstone, they don’t realise that he will be neither. And probably worse.

Nor does anyone seems to appreciate, especially the world’s pathetic media, that America’s greatest enemy lies not in blasted caves, or Muslim back alleys, or steering the controls of a hijacked Boeing 767, but within themselves, within their global actions, and within their own cookoo’s nest in such a shit country. A country with no history, no culture and no friends.

Ladies & gentlemen, there is no al Qaeda. America is its own worst enemy, it doesn’t need to invent any, its only needs to look into its rotten self to be rid of its demons.

So thank you arsehole America. Especially from my little grandchildren who now have to face the next 50 to 100 years of stinking global wars solely because of your one diseased nation which comprises just five percent of our world’s population.

Meanwhile, evil will always persist while good men do nothing.

Thank goodness for those rock-hard Republicans! Oh, and other assorted flag-wavers and chickenhawks. Bless ‘em all.

“All that we have to do is to send two mujahidin to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qaida, in order to make the generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic, and political losses without their achieving for it anything of note other than some benefits for their private companies” (Oct 2004)

You know what’s scary, sweetpea? The possibility of either Obama-yer-mama or the Hildabeast getting into the White House. Obama has been endorsed by the likes of Sandinista despot Daniel Ortega, the late FARC terrorist Raul Reyes,Louis Farrakhan, and Jeremiah Wright, an America-hating jackass who spews violent rhetoric during his ’sermons’. There’s obviously something about Obama’s character flaws that attracts these nutjobs. That’s scary.

Oh yeah, and let’s not forget about the Hildabeast.
Her ideas for a socialist America:

“Many of you are well enough off that … the tax cuts may have helped you. We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” (Hillary Rodham Clinton - June 28, 2004, in San Francisco at a Democrat Party fundraiser)

Didn’t Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx have the same idea?

Her take on the poor ‘misunderstood’ Islamofascists:

“Well, I believe that terrorism is a tool that has been utilised throughout history to achieve certain objectives. Some have been ideological, others territorial…And I think we’ve got to do a much better job of clarifying what are the motivations, the raisons d’etre of terrorists… I think one of our mistakes has been painting with such a broad brush, which has not been particularly helpful in understanding what it is we were up against when it comes to those who pursue terrorism for whichever ends they’re seeking.” (Hillary Rodham Clinton — interview with The Guardian, published October 23, 2007)

If either one of those clowns gets elected, there will be no lubricant good enough for the screwing they will give this country. But,don’t worry your little liberal minds. John McCain, though not the best Republican in the lot, will be far better than the frightening alternative.

    Yawn.

  11. floopmeister Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

Didn’t Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx have the same idea?

Yep, and Jesus too. Try looking up ‘koinonia’ in wikipedia:

The first usage of koinonia in the Greek New Testament is found in Acts 2:42-47, where we read a striking description of the common life shared by the early Christian believers in Jerusalem: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the communion, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need…They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.”

Honestly, you knee-jerk wingnuts are a real hoot.

    Aarrgghh! SOCIALISTS!!!

    Boo.

  12. Ken L Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0 Says:

Floopmeister you’re overlooking Clinton’s awful sins regarding Teh Terrorists. I think she’s suggesting the need for evidence and even worse, nuance in developing policy. Obviously a certifiable liberal lunatic who needs to be kept away from the levers of power at all costs.

Wait until our friend finds out Obama is actually prepared to talk to leaders of nations who don’t genuflect first … his outrage will rival an explosion in an Albanian munitions dump.

If John McCain becomes President, Iraq will continue to echo the worst aspects of the Vietnam War. His beliefs that it is winnable and that it can go on indefinitely are frightening reminders of the hawk politics of Vietnam 40 years ago.

Yep, often bemoaned the same thing meself.

To even suggest a divergence from the Imperial US is anathema. Very disturbing to be manacled to such a tyrant as it plummets into the moral abyss.
Maybe this is residual from the Howard years, when the catchcry of “anti-American” became the new mark of betrayal after the Rodents perpetual arselicking campaign to become the Village Idiots favourite suppository.

Wow sfcmac, you really need to get your V-Chip checked buddy, it seems to be stuck on the “ignorant jingo” setting.

Silly old Hillary, fancy wanting to know thine enemy, the better to defeat him/her. Next thing she’ll be saying that you have to actually plan military campaigns and stuff! Mc Cain’s idea is so much better, of course, just charge in with your fingers crossed and guns blazing. It’s sure working in Iraq!
