This week in WingnutWorld, USA
Rightwingers say the darndest things - - Posted on September, 22 at 3:51 pm by Ken L
Small seismic shocks were recorded all across the continental USA this week as events caused numerous WingnutWorldians’ heads to explode with frustrated rage at the liberals who hate America and spend every waking moment plotting to tear it down.
1. The perpetrators of the infamous Moveon.org advertisement calling the Iraqi proconsul ‘General Betray Us’ remain unpunished more than a week after the outrage - one which grievously insulted every man and woman who has ever worn the uniform of the United States military except for Benedict Arnold and perhaps John Kerry. This is despite presidential hopeful John McCain calling for the members of the organisation to be ‘thrown out of the country’. McCain was appalled at the outrage, while Michelle Malkin called the advertisement ‘despicable and disgusting’. Others sagely noted ‘the character assassination from the nutroots Left, a collection of jihadist supporters.’
Body count so far: three Wingnuts hospitalised due to apoplexy brought on by outrage overload syndrome, plus more than 20 soft tissue injuries caused by people trying to tear the New York Times into small pieces.
2. In the second appalling event of the week, liberal college Columbia University committed an act of treachery by inviting the president of Iran to speak at a conference. Hugh Hewitt summed it up pithily as ‘Columbia’s Disgrace’. Hewitt noted in his usual balanced manner that this was an insult to every person who had worn the uniform of the US military since Iran declared war in 1979 and remarked on president Ahmadinejad’s notorious character: a ‘fanatic’, an ‘evil man’, an ‘anti-Semitic blowhard’, a ‘gangster’. One would have thought it would be useful to have such a man appear in public in a conference where everyone could observe his evil fanaticism for themselves instead of taking Hugh’s word for it but apparently the students and staff at Columbia can’t be trusted to see the truth.
Hugh thinks the invitation is outrageous, if you were wondering. He wonders ‘Where is the outrage among the faculty and the students? Where are the parents of the students?’ Ah yes, where are the parents indeed. Will nobody think of the children?
William Kristol believes everyone should register ‘appropriate disgust’. In a move that would put their slack irresponsible parents to shame, Bill urges a boycott of the conference, crying:
Columbia students have a chance to shame their elders, redeem the good name of their institution, and make many Americans proud. I urge them to take it.
Funny how desperate they all are to stop impressionable kids being exposed to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a human setting without the advantage of having someone like Hugh or Bill to act as a buffer and translate his anti-Semitic gangsterism into WingnutWorldese.
Body count so far: four Columbia alumni hospitalised due to apoplexy caused by an inability to spell ‘Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’ in outraged emails of protest to Columbia University, plus scores of cuts and abrasions caused by smashing framed copies of Columbia testamurs in spontaneous acts of outrage.
3. Third of all and easily blowing the other two away in the outrage stakes is the request by said president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to visit the site of the September 11 terrorist attacks to lay a wreath. Rescuers are still trying to identify body parts of Wingnuts who spontaneously fragmented upon hearing of the idea.
Old faithful Hugh Hewitt said it would have ‘desecrated’ the site. Susan Duclos, doing a better job of articulating the outrage felt by all Wingnuts, concluded that ‘Ahmadinejad had the audacity that only a madman could have’. ‘For those too brain dead to understand the outrage being shown,’ she added helpfully, ‘this lunatic is an Extremist, one that has made threats against Israel, the United States and the UK as well as other countries.
‘He is head of a state that sponsors terror and as we showed above, it is HIS officers, Iranian officers that are smuggling weapons, bombs, into Iraq to kill our soldiers.’
Ah, now I’m beginning to get it. Just to round out the picture, other bloggers explained that ‘We’re rattling our war sabers against this country as we speak. After all the hateful insanities this man has spewed about Israel and the U.S. I say we don’t let him soil our land by stepping foot on it.’
John Hawkins agrees: ‘It is an absolute outrage that an anti-American, pro-terrorist piece of garbage like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be allowed to visit Ground Zero.’ But AllahPundit sums it up best:
If it happens, if this Holocaust-denying terrorist filthbag is allowed to use the remains of the Trade Center for a photo op, the rage on the right will burn so white hot that even the anti-amnesty activism this summer will pale by comparison.
I so love it when the Wingnuts get all poetic. And perish the thought that any politician should use the World Trade Centre for a photo op … though you gotta admit Dubya looked great with sleeves rolled up and a loud-hailer.
Body count so far: at least 50 Wingnuts hospitalised due to apoplexy caused by outrage overload syndrome, plus hundreds given first aid when they suffered dehydration milling around the World Trade Centre site trying to form an impenetrable human shield.
Fortunately the Wingnuts have found a way to strike back, with honest, sane political commentary:

******
MEANWHILE IN IRAQ: another few hundred people got murdered and another few thousand fled the country. Eh, shit happens. They’ve got it easy compared to WingnutWorld where the fight against liberal treason goes on 24/7.

If you want to visit the austalian version of “wingnut world” you should visit the blogsite Larvatas Prodeo, A Third Way site where they claim to speak for “teh” left, but censor out all authentic left commentary, as with folk who defended John Pilger against their attacks. They prefer tobabble abbout shopping and white whine.
I understand they may really “run” from Ruddock’s office in Canberra,, but it needs to be said that the real threats to democracy are not overt Hansonists but those who pretend a left face but actually beaver assiduously away for Hansonism,or more correctly neoliberalist privilege.

nah, they ain’t that bad over at LP paul…i enjoy visiting occasionally. Pretty decent debates now & then. They just don’t take to being called “Darling”…;)
As for the thrice yearly ritual burning of a Left-Wing totem by the Neo-Con & Bushevik Neanderthals & their Corporate wolf pack media, in this case MoveOn.Org…I think
Keith Olbermann had some interesting stuff to say about that:

well said Ken…
& lol…I luv the sound of an extreme Right-Wing GasBag head or twelve exploding in the morning:

(GasBag head explosion)
If this is any indication of how the Neo-Cons & their supporters settle their differences & discuss ideas than i’m not surprised Iraq is in such a MESS.

The rage over Iran is an interesting inversion. All the threats are directed towards Iran rather than from it, which disuades the wingnuts not an iota from talk of ‘defending’us from Iran.

Don’t comment there, but have read the ocassional thread or two. Don’t see how you could possibly equate LP with “wingnut world”. If you want the real deal, Aussie style, go visit Tim Blair’s or Andrew Bolt’s blogs.

“Amen’ to that Peter. This so called “Progressive Left Site” really is a mob of would be if they could be pseudo intellectuals blowing each other.
If they are trying to make a point to the man in the street to sway a particular point of view, using words, that unless you have a PhD in English, that the average educated person is to understand, then they are wasting their time.
Although the gentleman that runs it Mark Banish I think, is obviously very switched on,and takes the piss out of his antagonists with such ease,he I believe is a sincere believer in the cause.

Hey guys, ever heard of “eating your own”? Let’s leave that to the Right Wingers who have enabled Howeird to remain in power all these years eh?…;)
Is is me, or is that chic in the pic above hiding her fangs?
She’s definately got Anne Coulter eyes. Rottweilers & card sharks have a similar hungry look.

Nas,she is definitely two bag job one on yours and one on hers in case hers falls off.

And if yer not going to head to LP Phill & paul walter then i might as well quote myself from their thread “Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas……and such as” published by Phil on 21 September 2007 :
nasking:
Wasn’t Mandela a lawyer who went on to do amazing things? With stuff like this going on in Iraq I’m not surprised there are no potential Mandelas rising to the occasion:
“An Iraqi lawyer who was wounded in a shooting incident in Baghdad over the weekend that involved American security contractors is telling his side of the story.
Hassan Jabir was among about a dozen people wounded in the shooting, which Iraqi police say killed at least 11 others.
Jabir says nobody had been firing at the security guards from the American company Blackwater USA. He says he was stuck in traffic when he heard the Americans shout, “Go, Go, Go.” Moments later, he says, bullets pierced his back. He says men, women and children were shot as they dove from their vehicles, trying to crawl to safety.
Blackwater insists that its employees had come under fire from armed insurgents, and that they shot back to protect State Department employees.”
(Iraqi lawyer says Americans weren’t shot at before opening fire: Associated Press: 9/20/2007)
And even Professors aren’t safe:
“Last Thursday, March 30, 2006, American occupation soldiers shot dead 72 years old Professor Qais Husameldeen Juma’a as he left the College of Agriculture at Baghdad University and had just passed their check point.
He had returned from Australia to supervise a few PhD students at the College.”
(Free Iraq, April 05, 2006: Professor Qais Juma’a killed by American occupation soldiers)
Seems to me Saddam ain’t the only reason we can’t find the spirit of Nelson Mandela in Iraq…eh George?

see what you guys are missing…:)…if Timbo can flex his flabby muscles I can too…;)
time for a XXXX bitter or twelve
September 22nd, 2007 at 9:45 pm
Phill did you take my beers?…;) Ya know matey you spell better pissed than i do straight…definitely…:)
As for the types like the ‘Queen of the Damned’ in the pic…I’ve heard you can ward them off by holding up a copy of ‘the Inconvenient Truth’.
Or a pocket book containing ‘The American Constitution’, ‘The Bill of Rights & ‘Declaration of Independence’.
Or w/ a strand of Michael Moore’s hair.
Supposedly they implode after drinking carrot & apple juice.
Or better yet, blow smoke from a Cuban cigar in their direction. They transform into something that resembles Strom Thurmond risen from the dead.

Wingnuts love their boney ladies don’t they. Coulter, McArdle, Malkin spring to mind equally. Do they have a problem with women who look like women?
Consider: an obsession with guns and the military (but not keen to join); hyper-masculine swagger-talk; so many with double chins and soft mouths; a predilection for women with no curves.
Hmmmm…..just sayin’. Or implyin’.
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:04 am
:)…zebbidies spring!…surely yer not implying that these ‘frat boys’ are keeping their true selves hidden from view? If so, i feel sorry for the gay community if this bunch of sadists are cruisin’ the bars:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3319967978568410735
(Blair + Bush At The Gay Bar)
tho i reckon this comment from grupthink .com is about right:
“In my Opinion Bush is too Damn stupid to be Gay, most of the Gay people that I Know are smart…”
as for the “why are all adored x-treme Conservative women boney?” question that comes up in convo now & then…my reply is…
“firstly, that obviously doesn’t apply to Australia…
& secondly, the lady vampyrs of the US Neo-Con media have realised it’s easier to stay out of the sunlight & hide behind polls if they slim down to nothing but skin & bones…they tend to stick to the studios & writing blogs from the dark recesses of their crypts…
it might also have something to do w/ lacking essential organs like a heart…or an evolved brain”

No, you’re quite right Nasking. A friend of mine reckon ed tonight its because its geting close to elections and the Tories would love nothing more than for their opponents to fall out as the critical moment arrives. I’ll “live and let live”, but leave the wine bibbers to themselves in future.

The time has arrived:

start thinkin’ about it…

N’
it’s time we focused on our environment
not ‘faux’ enemies
children thrive on nutritious food, clean water and fresh air
not bullets, bombs and missiles

The whole thing about Iran is even more hypocritical than implied above. Glenn Greenwald points out (http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/09/20/ledeen/index.html) that Michael Ledeen is one of the big pushers of the “we’ve been at war with them since 1979″ meme. He conveniently forgets that he and the Reagan administration were supplying arms to them in the early ’80s.
September 23rd, 2007 at 11:36 am
Personally I think Gore/Edwards would be better than Gore/Obama. Edwards seems to get that government should be for the people and not for corporations, and that it’s been screwed up for far too long in the USA and it needs remedial work. Obama still seems a little too close to the corporations and lobbyists.
Interestingly the press seem to be going quite hard against Edwards, trying to marginalise him by talking about his hair and looks and personal wealth rather than his politics of poverty and class. That seems to make sense - the press are large businesses who stand to lose out a bit if Edwards gets in and starts genuinely trying to claw back some of the rules in the system that disproportionately benefit the rich.

Muslims Against Sharia condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the decision of Columbia University to provide a speaking venue for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Apparently letting Akbar Rafsanjani speak at the National Cathedral was not the height of American Dhimmitude, because providing a venue for the world’s foremost anti-Semite, whose proclaimed goal is the destruction of the USA and Israel, definitely takes the cake. What is surprising is that we don’t hear any complaints from Columbia alumni who should be ashamed of their silence.
More on the subject: Why Does Columbia host Ahmadinejad?
September 23rd, 2007 at 11:22 pm
not sure on that Lotharsson…i thought it was the other way around. But heck, i’ll take Gore/Edwards…or Gore/Obama…or Gore/Hillary…or Gore/Kucinich…or Hillary/Obama…or Hillary/Edwards…or Hillary/Biden… anyday over Giuliani/Romney or Thompson/Huckabee etc…
…ya know, i rarely hear my wife swear, but for one moment i got a memory lapse (happens to the best of us, ask Rudd…lol) & called out to her: “who are the Republican Presidential candidates?”…& she promptly replied as she walked past w/ coffee in hand: “Oh, some boring old f*cks”…
just about sums it up i reckon.
September 24th, 2007 at 12:45 am
anyday over Giuliani/Romney or Thompson/Huckabee etc…
My God any of the above for POTUS? The names sought of have a nice ring for a funeral parlor,or a mid town hardware store.I reckon Giuliani would probably make a great star in the Sopranos.I dun know, what nearly 300 million people in the U.S. and this is the best they can come up with? Still after Bush Donald fucking Duck could probably run and get elected.

I’ve been having an extended slugfest with a wingnut over here. The rule here is “there are no rules”. Illogicality reigns, along with racism and fact free certainty. I think he’s winning — or I’m probably just exhausted.
September 24th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Love the T-shirt slogan! Shorter wingnut, ‘bring back the cold war’.
Wingnuts everywhere are growing increasingly frustrated as the ‘Official right’ implodes, the result of an unpopular war going pear shaped, and the crises of legitimacy that war plus economic uncertainty brings to any regime unwise enough to send poor people to war abroad, and wage war against them at home.
The wingnuttery could become very dangerous in the next two years. Watch out for bombs and ordinance in the darnedest of places, used as an excuse to ‘crack down’ on domestic democratic movements for change.
